I was wondering if I could put a few moss balls in a five gallon tank. I don't know anything about these plants and need some info on them. I saw them in a LFS that were about an inch and a half in diameter. How big do these plants get? I don't want them to take over my tiny tank. Any info on these plants would be appreciated.

Ive got some on order,im going to be putting them in my low light beta, snail tank.
Think thay are good in low light levels.....thats about all i know.
I dont like the look of them in the average tank, mine will be going in my 30 litre bi orb...keeping the round theme going he he

Would a Coralife light with two 9 watt, 6700°K full-spectrum bulbs be too bright for a 5 gallon?

If you have problems with too much light it isn't hard to find shade for them eh?

I have two moss balls in my biorb. One is a bit smaller than a golf ball, the other a bit smaller than a tennis ball. I can't say that they have grown very much since I got them in February, so I doubt they will overtake your tank. I did read somewhere that you are supposed to take them out every now and then and roll them between the palms of your hands to maintain their shape, but I never have. Very low maintenance plants!

Same here. Mine don't seem to grow, but everyone who sees them thinks they're really neat. They're definitely interesting to look at.
