I see all different ranges for rainbowfish...68-75, 71-76, 76-82, etc. I've had mine in water 79-81 over the years with good success, but is there a recommended range?

Does it depend on which rainbowfish? Mine are Boesmani's, Goyder River/Banded, Ornates, Yellows, etc.

Thanks.

I have a rainbow tank with Boesemani, Lacustris, Trifasciata, and Glossolepis Multisquamatus. I keep the temp at 75. From all that I have read on rainbows this is a temp in the "general maintenance" range (on the higher end of the scale). I have read that some increase the temp to around 82 for breeding purposes. The average range I have read is between 68-76. Different sources say different things, I took the averages from several and decided to set my temp at 75. I should also add that I took the information from sites/books dealing specifically with rainbowfishes.
Glad to see someone else who keeps rainbows.
