Well over the weekend we went to petsmart and adopted a cat that the fish can tease. The cat, Mars, was from a local no kill cat rescue and has noticed the fish but has yet to figure out to get up to the tank. Nothing beside it to jump on and too tall to jump on top of from the floor. But I did hold him at tank level once and boy did the fish have fun swimming right by the cats face getting him all excited. My kids love Mars as well. He takes my one year old sitting almost on top of him and tugging gently at his fur. No hisses or biting or even trying to scratch her. I think this might be a good toy for the fish.

Aw... Pics? I love the kitten stage! Easier to cuddle a kitten than a 20+ lb cat. :D

lol! sweet! i love cats-i have 4 to prove it!- one of the funniest things i ever saw was when i had one of my 10 gallons right next to my desk and hamish(one of my cats from before he's gone now r.i.p.) would back up and take off full speed at the tank and then realize he forgot there was glass between him and the fish and come to a complete halt but since my desk was glass he couldn't stop and would slide into the tank head first...what was so funny is that he'd back back up and repeat!

no pics at moment. All the camera batteries are dead. We moved 6 weeks ago and all the chargers are still missing.

My 4 year old curled up with Mars under the one year olds crib and tried to take a nap with him. Only big sis came in and spoiled the moment. I also forgot to mention Mars is 2-3 years old and his fur is black with a solid white undercoat. Pretty interesting to see.

Awww! I love cats! So cute. What kind of fish is it? And what kind of cat? Very funny, so, how big is the tank, if he can't get to the top in a single jump? Also, he sounds like my cate, stripes, cept black and white, not brown and white.

Im just glad mine aren't that fish-friendly, they weigh more then the tanks, if they went for a swim it would be a disaster...

i had that happen once, shorted out the hood but luckily didn't kill the oscars!!!

just the ever loved zebra danios, cpd, and chili rasboras. the zebra danios will follow you from one end of the tank to the other begging for some chow. funny to watch them when my 1 year old walks past. They all follow her along the bottom of the tank.

As far as my tank goes it is a 55 gal on a tall stand. and I say he cant jump up doesnt mean he wont one day. To my knowledge he has not tried. Maybe one day he will.

Finally got one of the cameras charged and here is a Pic of Mars

20 lb cats can always be cuddled....just need to use some good twine to hold it to the barbecue spit....
