HTH Pool Filter Sand (Ace Hardware) okay to use??

I have looked around and have not seen this used by anyone. I looked on the bag all it said was #20 Silica Sand and nothing more. Just want to make sure this PFS would be alright for my tank before I set it up.

Yes, it's OK to use. Just remember you have to rinse it over and over and over, till the water runs clear to get the dust out, so it won't cloud your water.

I don't know of any pool filter sands that are a problem. I AGREE regarding rinsing - you'll be amazed at how much rinsing you'll need to do before the water comes off clear!

..get a bucket fill it about 3/4 of the way full of sand and use your garden hose..poke it down in to the sand let the water fill it and spill over dump the water out over and over again..takes about 10 mins till it runs clean...

i use it in all my tanks.
