I just got a "portion" of live brine shrimp for my fish and man they loved it! THey were skittering around the tank munching them down like crazy! I never seen my silver dollar move so fast! LOL

Now I have alot left, I mean ALOT (like 4-6 ounces), I didnt know there were that many shrimp in 2 tablespoons and now the fish are full! There are still some brine swimming around in there, but the fish are stuffed. So on the weekend I had asked another LFS how to store brine, but I didnt get to buy any cause I was on my way someplac and didnt want to leave it in the car, but they said they would last 2-3 days with an airstone in the container. The store I JUST bought it from (which is a different LFS) told me to just keep them in the fridge without anything and they would last 2-3 days. Wont the cold temp kill off the brine? Who is right?

I have been home with them about an hour so I want to make sure I do the right thing so my fish can get more live treats tomorrow and hopefully the next day.

When i get adult brine, i store them in a large jar with some air holes in the fridge - if they are a healthy batch, they last 3-4 days - you may want to buy smaller amounts more frequently - you can also get quality brine flakes, frozen brine and freeze dried brine. Lot of options! I'm glad you are having fun with your fish!

I buy brine shrimp for my tanks. I keep them in a margarine tub with the lid on in the fridge. They last from Friday to Thursday of the following week.
I take the tub out of the fridge, net a few and put them in the tank. As they warm up they start swimming around if they have not already been eaten. Those that I do not net, go back to the fridge in the sealed tub.

They will last longer in a "wider/flatter tray. Also if kept cooler.

Thanks guys! I put them in a plasic container in the fridge with the top cracked open a notch and today when I got home I thought they were all dead. But once I put some of them in the tank and as soon as they hit the water, they livened right up! Thanks again!
