Can somebody tell me how to euthanize a fish? My dad has a large goldfish in his tank (not sure which kind, maybe a ryukin) that has a swim bladder problem. I've been trying to treat him for 3 weeks and feeding him peas, but he just keeps getting worse and worse. Now, he is completely upside down on the surface of the water and cannot get out of that position. He just looks miserable because every few hours he will struggle to swim and just end up flailing around. Poor guy. Also, I've noticed a little bit of bleeding in his belly area. He cannot get in the right position to eat and won't let me feed him either. At this point, I know he will die soon, but I don't want him to suffer any longer. I've heard some people putting fish in a cup in the fridge, but wouldn't the coldness be uncomfortable for them? Thanks for your help on this issue.
