how long is live rock... live?

after the salt content got too high in my 55 gallon and killed off all the fish [i wasnt home :[ ] i took the rock out and put in in a large tub and put the lid over it. it's been in there for about 3 months. if i used it in a smaller tank, would it grow back or no?

Hrmm.. Prolly mostly dead.. You may get lucky and have some algae spoors left on it, but I'd doubt it..

Im gonna say its all dead. You could cure it again if you wanted and the put it in a tank.

To cure live rock, simply add the correct salinty salwater to a container, add a heater to get it to the correct temp, add water flow via powerheads...Water change every week and keep an eye on the water params..maybe add a skimmer if one is available..

How long the curing takes, all depends on the rock itself..
