how large to jelly bean parrot cichlids get?

hmm neat. 4-6.. thats pretty big.
well i just got 2 of them today. and they had a bunch of them that were undyed. i got the only died ones they had cuz i thouht they were pretty.
there were darker oranges and light oranges. i got a purple one and a green one. they add a nice touch to the tank.
im a bit worried that i might be overstocked. =|

dying fish is cruel. you should return them for undyed ones. they may look healthy now but they are either going to be disease ridden or dead soon...
are you sure they are true jellybean parrots? real jellybeans that are undyed are white. it sounds like they may have been blood parrots.
i have seen blood parrots with the same name as jellybeans. blood parrots get to 8-10 inches long.

another question..
my purple one has a tail
and the green one doesnt. like no fins.. no body that tapers down. just a circle with all the other fins..execpt the tail. thats the wierdest thing ive ever seen.

its tail was cut off. im surprised the fish has survived being dyed and then getting its tail cut off. you really need to take these guys back, and unless your tank is a 55 gallon, it will be to small for two undyed, uncut ones.

the same reason they dye the fish- they think it makes them look better.
you didnt know. just take them back and if they ask why, tell them that you do not support the cruel dying and cutting the tails off of fish.
green ones with no tail. . . st patty's is coming up, i'm surprised they weren't labeled as "shamrock parrots" or some other nonsense. take them back.
better yet, do your research (google "dyed fish jellybeans", "heart shaped parrot fish", etc. . . and look at deathbydyeing.org) then after you return the fish, tell the store owner exactly why you're returning them, and (your personal choice, of course) why you won't be shopping at that store in the future.
