How do you breed cory cats?

ILOVEBETTAS

It's Cory Lover's cat!
What supplies do you need?
How do you breed them?

I really want to know. Thanks

you need no special "supplies". you do need a group of about 6 cory's of the same species, very clean water which means 50 percent water changes weekly, fine gravel, lots of caves, some plants, a ph of about 7, and a high quality, varied diet fed twice daily.

So if I put about... say... 7 of them in a tank together and I kept the water VERY clean and kept the pH at 7 and had a lot of hiding places, they would breed? Is it really that easy?

well, yes it's that easy ... or no it's not. there are some folks who breed corydoras and don't even try very hard. there are others who try very hard but never succeed. is there some luck involved? i'd say yes but more than that is patience. don't expect it to happen in a week, or a month ... or even a year. the corys have to be sexually mature and that depends on the species. that might take two years. they have to be well conditioned and that depends on how well you take care of them.

Another tip is to not keep any other fish in the tank that will eat their eggs.

I see my females loaded with eggs and the males courting them all the time, but I never find any eggs because the other fish eat them.
