If you want to raise feeders easily and have LOTS of them, get a pair of convict cichlids. They will produce 100+ fry every month. You could do this with a 20 gallon tank for the breeding pair and a 10 gallon tank to grow out the babies.
I finally got a good pair going in January and they have just laid their third batch of eggs today. The first batch of fry are now 3/4 inch long and ready for feeding. Only problem is that I don't have the big Oscar that I was growing the feeders for.
Fortunately, my LFS will take some of them and I am working on giving away some too.
Anyone in Birmingham Alabama area is welcome to have as many as they would like. Just send me a PM. Because my fry come from a breeding pair that consists of one regular convict and one albino/pink, a breeding pair of their offspring will produce both regular and albino/pink babies. Would be neat if you wanted to produce 2 different varieties of fish from the same pair.
