Well last week I went and bought 3 bundles of Hornwort. This was the first time I had ever messed with this plant. Since last Wednesday, it has grown to the top of the tank and is starting to curl over. The bunches look like they are getting thicker as well.

Is there anything I need to do to keep this plant growing, or do I just let it go to do whatever it wants? If it keeps doing good, I think I want to fill the tank up with this. It's doing MUCH better than my Wisteria or Anacharis did.

It has to be rearranged and clipped here and there to stay completely healthy.
You won't like it so much when needles start falling out.
If you have it tied in a bunch with a lead anchor, it may be necessary to clip it above the anchor on a regular basis.

It is pretty neat stuff, for not having any roots. Towards the end of last year I had some continuous strands over 20' long that I wrapped around my HOB inlet tube and the inside top of my 29ga tank, it made it look like Garland on a Christmas tree.

I float hornwort in a few of my tanks. It does help control algae somewhat and gives my smaller fish a place to hide in if they want to.

So can I just pinch the long strand I have, say in the middle, and let it start over from there? Is this the way to propogate it?

Yes, that is the way to do it. Hornwort really has no root system so it is fine to do it that way.

the only advice i can give is to make sure that you keep the clumps from getting really tangled as this made mine get alot of food stuck in their
