Anyone ever heard of this I was trying to look it up in the species section and didn't see anything maybe someone labeled it wrong at the store? Looks really cool my boyfriend and I are interested. Suitable for 10 gal? how about a 55gal?

ACTUALLY this SUPERSTORE has some really nice pics of fish that they carry though I wouldn't really recommand anyone getting fish there because it's kind of a shady set up right next to gerbils, mice, hamsters, birds and guinea pigs

that looks like a paroon shark to me or a columbian. both are too small for a 55 gallon.

Just googled for it. It's called a Columbian catfish or Columbian shark more commonly and under that name you can pull up info. Some sites say these go from fresh to brackish to salt setups as they grow. One fellow claimed to have a 24 inch one in his marine tank. It will eat whatever it can fit in its mouth, so smaller tankmates are not recommended. Here's a link to Drs. Foster and Smith artcle on them.

GEEZ this fish sounds like It goes under "what fish NOT to sell in the LFS" I dunna HOW but they're keeping like 20 of them in a 10 gal at that Store along with 5 different varieties of other fish that according to that Article should be EATING all of them shortly..........

AIGOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got one a couple of weeks ago at Petco. Like you, I say it and had to have it. Something about cat type fish I like. The fish can be found on the net as Silvertip Shark as well. I've got him in a 55 right now, but I just bought a 125 and will be moving him soon. At Petco, they had a bunch of them in one tank and they were all bunched up in one corner near the surface. He's a great looking fish, but I wish he would swim around more. All he does is hang out at the upper most left hand side of my tank and swim as if he can't figure out why he can't go any farther...up and down, up and down. He cruzes during feeding though. Here's my tank occupants.

1 12in Sailfin Pleco
1 2in Borneo Sucker/Hillstream loach
1 3in Silvertip Shark
1 3in Bala Shark
2 1in Cories
2 3in Clown loaches
2 2in Gouramis
2 3in Pictus cats
2 2in Platys
14 1in Tetras (2 went to the cats/loaches?)
