help removing calcium buildup

i gotta free tank before i reseal it i wanna remove the white stains(i think calcium) from the glass. iv tried windex , vinegar(which helped)and lysol disenfecting wipes and failed to remove it . anyone have any tips?

Razor blades and patience are the only thing I've found that removes it completely.

Try some CLR. You may need to let it set on the buildup for awhile. Rinse the tank VERY well after you remove the calcium.

If it isnt plexi then you should use steel wool on the glass..there are many grits...experiment...

i got a bit of a shakey hand so im a little nervous i might scratch the glass with the razor
i was thinking about the "clr" commercial- i just dont want to go out and buy it - but im thinking i might
i thought that steel wool might scratch the glass i will try a small spot and see what happens

Steel wool will work if you give it the time. Get the really fine stuff. It may make a mess everywhere but it will sheen and polish it right up.
