I just got 4 more neon tetras for my tank, this makes it a total of 5 neons. When I introduced all the neons to the tank, the betta was curious at first (flared for a second) and swam around the floating bag checking them out. When I let them out, the betta seems to be afraid of them. The neons are tiny, the largest one is only about 1/2 the size of the betta. Instead of the neons hiding behind the plants, it was the betta.

My neons just roam freely around the tank and the betta just tries and avoid them. In the beginning when the betta gets close, he would just lower his head close to the ground, as if he was showing respect to the neon gang. Its quite funny.

The corys are afraid of the betta, the betta is afraid of the neons and the neons just don't give a darn who's next to them. They rule my tank. :D

Its a small tank, 10 gallons. Its adequately planted, so there's hiding spots. My betta stays on the top layer most of the time, neons are in the mid section and corys are on the bottom. I think its fairly leveled out. They are getting along just fine, just that the betta is a lot more timid than I thought.

Ammonia and Nitrate levels are pretty much in check; .01ppm for ammonia and 0 nitrate. I got no problem changing the water either. :)
