i just started cycling..

and I want to speed up the process.
I don't have access to seeding material (filter floss, gravel etc..)
so I have to patiently wait for it to cycle.

I've tried using bacteria products including
Stress Zyme - aquarium pharmaceuticals
Cycle - Hagen
Stability - Seachem

but they did NOT work !!!

so I am going to try this other product called NITRIVEC.
According to the ingredients and composition it CONTAINS "nitrosommonas, and nitrobacter" bacteria.

UNLIKE the other products mentioned above...which apprently contain heterotrophs or stuff that break down waste and/or enzymes.

Anywayz.
I was wondering, has anyone used this product WITH SUCCESS???

Nitrosomonas and nitrobacter are nitrifying bacteria in saltwater enviroments, they are not the ones established in freshwater tanks.

You're looking for something that has nitrospira. To date, only Bio-Spira contained nitrospira.

unfortunately i live in Sydney Australia.....

so i don't have access to Biospira or Turbostart etc......

So i have to contend with what I have.
I would LOVE to get biospira (as I have read nothing but PRAISE for this product)....but here in australia we get the left overs and crappy products.

thanks for the info though.

Don't feel left out, I doubt anyone can get their hands on Bio-Spira right now. Marineland couldn't produce enough Bio-Spira to meet the demand and they had stopped shipping it. Bio-Spira also needs to be refridgerated as they don't survive for long in the bottle with limited foodsource. Marineland is currently looking for ways to improve the product and remove the refridgeration requirement.

For now, everyone is stuck doing it the old reliable way.
