Wow - can these guys hide or what? Feeding bloodworms yesterday, I never saw the two of them out at the same time - one would swim out, eat, and go hide. They look similar enough that unless they're side by side so I can see one is slightly bigger, I can't tell them apart. So...I became paranoid and was sure that one was dead and I was only seeing one fish eating. I picked up ever rock, moved the leaves of the planted plants, picked up the driftwood...and promptly could find either fish.
Then, I saw that one was laying flat and slightly curved to hold onto a piece of driftwood that I had recently picked up (but not pulled out of the tank - just picked up underwater to look over). Finding the other major driftwood hunk in the tank, I found the second one doing the same.
I almost wonder if they were tag team eating. Is such a thing possible? It's too bad that I traumatized them buy tearing up the tank because there usually was one out and about in the front of the tank most of yesterday. Now, I wonder if they were alternating visits to the front of the tank to see if I was going to feed.
Then again - maybe only one of them was brave enough to come out and eat after only 48 hours in the tank.
