can i put a green bird wrasse in a 90g reef with 120lbs liverock and a blue hippo and a sixline wrasse?

from the reading that i just did i wouldnt chance it. they are somewhat territorial and may eat smaller fish also they do not like other fish with elongated bodies.

Ya...what he said. Nice profile title. >_>

Am gonna dissagree here, there are no issues with mixing a bird wrasse with the other fish. Gomphosus are more prone, if anything, to go for crustaceans, never come across any incidents of them going for fish. Size is more of a concern for me here, as they get to about a foot long..A 6 foot long tank is more suitable, at minimum..

Done a search over in WWM archives to give you some other confirmation on this..

Hope that helps.

I have to agree with both Reef and pipebash.

They are more likely to go for ornamental crustaceans but can become aggressive especially towards smaller fishes.

However - I feel that your tank is too small to give all tankmates the space they need to appease any aggression. From my experience sixline wrasses can be aggressive and may "stir" things.

Do you still have all the fish listed in your signature as well, or is it just the SL wrasse and tang you have?

If it helps, I did an experiment when I was tempted to get a larger wrasse, you can find the outcome here.

I have to also agree with Cat also,
But that said......
They are beautiful fish and i fell in love with one at a local Aquarium, did the research and decided against buying one, but the female is just as pretty with the same characteristics although grows, from what i remember, a lot smaller.

Quote.....
"I might invent plastic cut out full size fish, so people can see what they will look like in their tank, a kind of try before you buy!!!!" still waiting Cat!! LMAO
