Well my Opal and Gold gouramis decided to have babies. I have a ton of fry in a 29G with the canister filter turned way down.

Was wondering what i should feed the baby fry? They seem to ignore the liquid fry food. Which is just basically egg yolk and water.. Didn't have time to prepare infosuria for them. Ive read brine shrimp is too large for them can someone confirm?

If brine shrimp work could i use freeze dried brine shrimp?

Baby brine shrimp (frozen kind is fine), microworms when they're slightly larger, or, if you're lazy like me, Hikari first bites. The live foods are better, but the first bites work perfectly well. You can also finely crush flake food.

no but ive fed hikari first bites to kilifish fry and while ive never seen gourami fry im assuming killifihs fry are alot smaller.

The little black specs are the fry. They are really tiny

they could easily eat the hikari first bites. itd be easy if you took a side view and put and object like a pin or something up to do a size comparison.

Will do that then.

Ill try to get more pictures but its rather difficult. They stick towards the top, very hard to see them from the side.

I feed mine crushed up flake food. Whatever is left over will either be eaten by bigger fish or sucked into the filter. But my fry are big enough to be in the tank.
Crushed up food works if you basically POWDER it.
Good luck!

for best fry hatch rate your going to want to use live food(bbs or white worms or daphania)
but if you cant keep live food, the buy a cheep coffee grinder and make some fry food.mix up flakes, pellets, and wafers

your going to want roughly 60/40 with 60%protien and 40% veggie
