I have a tiny 1.5in goldfish and I just noticed that his eye is completely gone. He had it yesterday before lights out, but today after work I noticed his right eye is totally gone! You can see the tiny dot of the nerve endings and all that, the hollowed hole where the eye was. It is active and doesn't seem to mind. But I'm wondering if I should look out for anything in particular that might happen. There is some salt in the water.

Well, it's doing fine. Though another 1in goldfish is now also missing an eye. I think it's the dragon goby doing it.
Moved the little pond over and put all the goldfish into it. Sun makes it 90F+ though...

Well, now I think it might of been the Ram. It chased and pecked at the fish.
What do you guys think? Anyone??

Who lives with the missing-eyed goldfish?

I think the 90 degree pond won't work out too well for the goldfish... Although I know the surface of my whiskey barrel pond gets quite warm, but the bottom of the pond stays much cooler.

I had a zebra danio loose her eye and live for a whole year before passing of old age. I had a guppy born without an eye too and he did just fine as long as the food was on his goodside. Might not be a bad idea to think about some antibiotics or stress coat to keep it from getting infected though if is was ripped out of the socket.

I've never heard of a Ram physically harming another fish, but I suppose it's possible to have a super aggressive one.
