Hi guys :)

I bought an anachris plant for my moor, thinking he would chow down on it. He hasn't touched it at all! Actually, he checked it out and mouthed at it a bit, but that was it. I've had it for about 3 or 4 days. How do I keep the plant alive, since my moor isn't eating it? Also, could there be a reason why he isn't eating the plant? I thought goldfish loved to graze on plants. :help:

Just let the anacharis float and maybe the Moor will eventually consider it food. I sometimes buy anacharis as a snack for Goldfish but your Moor may be getting familiar with its tank or it may be sick or it just may not recognise the plant as food yet. Plants are generaly good in a tank and for Goldfish.

Just do your water changes and watch the fish.

Help is here if you need it but you and the fish wiil probably be fine.

You keep anachris alive by just letting it float there. It draws everything it needs from the water. Doesn't require added anything or strong lighting. As it grows longer, it might branch out here and there. Don't be afraid to chop it up into smaller lengths. You'll just have that many more plants growing at once.

As it keeps going, you could grab a handful and plant it in a bundle. It won't root, but you could gently anchor it to a nearby rock or some wood using a little fishing line. Make sure you don't leave any sharp ends from the knot you tie.. that could hurt the moor nosing around it.

Overall, it's quite versatile and easy to grow.

Goldfish will eat just about anything if they get hungry. I once thought that Swords and Java Fern were not ediible by Goldfish until the Fish ate mine.

Yes, Anacharis, as with most plants , enjoys a particular temp range.

Can plants carry ich? My moor is the only one in my tank, and I noticed he has ich :( I do 50% water changes 3 times a week. He didnt' show any signs of ich before I got him about a month or so ago.... :( How do I get rid of it? I don't want to add any chemicals to my tank.
