Gold Barb

Hi, does anyone here know any thing about gold barbs?

Are they peaceful like cherry barbs or are they nippy like tiger barbs?

Are they as hardy as people say that they are?

Gold barbs are a very peaceful fish. Nothing at all like the tiger barbs, I actually have six of them in with two angels and have had no problems at all. They do seem to be pretty hardy from what I can tell, I wouldn't reccomend putting them in anything smaller than a 29 gallon as they are very active swimmers. They are not as commercially overbred as a lot of tropical species so they have retained a lot of natural instincts, this is especially noticeable during feeding, very colorful and fun fish to watch.
