I have a ten gallon tank cycling with 4 zebra danios, one of which is a short-fined "glowfish". I find if funny seeing the genetically altered and obviously different one is dominant and chasing the others around. though i know its due to the fact its faster than its long fin danio tank mates. i've always found it disgraceful that companies were injecting live fish with dye. i'm glad now they can satisfy the publics need for florescent fish without causing suffering on the animal.

i believe they are playful nippers
some people even feel the genetic way to alter fish is bad too
but wouldn't gold fish be "low tech" genetic engineering:eek3:
---finally got to use the term "low tech":headbang2: but i guess dogs and cats fall in to that too hmm.....

Difference is though they use non-fish dna... a goldfish you just pick other goldfish to get the traits you want...glofish had jellyfish dna inserted into their dna to make them. I am not opposed to it, but just wanted to point out the difference.
