I have a lot of moss growing around the waterfalls of my outdoor koi pond.
Just out of curiosity, I took a small clump, washed it off real good, and stuck it in my aquarium.
The stuff actually sinks, so I didnt have to tie it down or anything.
That was yesterday and its still sitting there looking very pretty. If it survives, it would make a great carpet covering.
Anybody see any problems with this. Has anybody ever tried it?

Thanks

Well, I already have some java moss. I'm just playing around with the garden moss, just for ha ha's.
I had some second thoughts though, and I took the moss out of the aquarium and put in in a goldfish bowl. I'm going to watch it for a while and see what happens.

I'd keep the moss out, it'll go bad and you'll have all your perameters out of whack, it's just not worth the aggrivation, the moss can't grow without atmospheric oxygen

Well, it's possible the moss has a submerged as well as emersed form. But from the part of the country you live in I'd bet the temperature of your tank will kill off the moss.

I've grabbed bits of aquatic plant from the Columbia river - but it just disappears in my tanks, both gold fish and tropical.

Ok - I get it!!!! Dont put garden moss in the aquarium. (with or without the worms.) Guess I had a momentary loss of sanity. Thanks for bringing me back to reality. Guess I'll have to find another way to revolutionize the aquarium business.

Thanks
