Hey gang. Does anyone know if these guys will eat small live shrimp ? I was thinking of putting some in my shrimp tank. Thanx.

Margarita time the article read lol, that I read.

i would say the shrimp would have to be incredibly small because the cpd are small to begin with

I'm keeping cherry shrimp in with my CPD's -- the adult shrimp seem to be safe but I'm no longer seeing any cherry shrimp offspring - so I'm assuming the CPD's are eating them (I used to get alot of shrimp larvae in this tank).
The CPD's are breeding for me, so I'm pretty sure a change in water quality (etc) isn't the reason the little shrimps are gone...

It possible that the CPD's are sneaking a few adult soft-shelled shrimp right after they molt, I didn't count adults before I put the CPD's in there.

I have 12 CPD in a 30 gal With cherry shrimp and ghosts. The Cpd do feast on the small shrimp fry,If you give the shrimp a good place to hide like a big clump a java moss or something of that sort some of the fry will survive.I only see about 5-10 little babbies make it but the do live. I started with 25 cherries and have about 50 now.

The smaller the fish the more likely they'll be to be able to get into densely planted areas to eat the baby shrimp.

My Heterandia formosa (least killifish) have totally stopped cherry shrimp reproduction by eating all the babies. There hasn't been a single new adult cherry shrimp in that tank for six months.
