Found a pure ammonia source

Hi, I'm new here. I'm starting a fishless cycle on a new tank, and like many others, I've had trouble finding a source of pure ammonia. I finally found one, so I thought I would post it. It's the Ace Hardware Store brand "Janitorial Strength Formula", containing 10% ammonium hydroxide. The bottle doesn't have an ingredients list, but at the store they told me it was manufactured by Rooto Corporation. So, I called Rooto Corporation this morning, and they confirmed for me that it was JUST ammonia and water.

Huzzah! It's been so hard to find this. Even other clear ammonias that I found had surfactants and clarifying agents, or just didn't list the ingredients at all. This was the first one where I was able to confirm the ingredients.

Maybe others who have found reliable sources could post them, too? There are a lot of Ace Hardware stores, but I'm sure not everybody lives near one. (Sorry if there's already a thread with this; I couldn't find one.)

Good find and good post, information like this should be spread around.

I use
"Clear ammonia all purpose cleaner"
From Wal- Mart. Ingredients: Softened water, ammonia, cheleating agents.

I used this for my fishless cycle without any problems. I did come across a post in AC that recommended using ammonia chloride as apposed to ammonia hydroxide (the Ace brand). If you search the forums I'm sure you could come up with a source for ammonia chloride, but I used the Ace brand and can't say that I had any difficulties.

FWIW,
I went to Walmart last night and they don't have the "pure" ammonia listed in this thread and elsewhere (the stuff with just H20 and chelating agent). They just had stuff that had ammonia and a "surficant." Bummer.
