I recently received a 2.5 gallon tank as a gift from my aunt and I was wondering what I should put in it. I'm interested in fish besides bettas really because I already have a few (if this is my only choice, however, I'll take it because I do love them :) )

Fish that I have heard could maybe work and I like (but am not positive about) are:
Dwarf Gouramis, Paradise Fish, White Clouds, Zebra Danios, Guppies, or Endler's Livebearers.

If any of these would work, could you tell me in what quantities I should have them? Or, if there are other choices that are better, please inform me about them!
Also, feel free to correct me on any of the above information
Thank you very much in advance!!

Definately not the Dwarf Gourami (min 10g) or the Paradise Fish (min 15g IMO). White Clouds, Zebra Danios and Guppies are all pretty active fish and personally I wouldn't keep them in anything under a 10g. I don't know much about Endler's, someone else will know.

endler's are a cousin to guppies, same rules apply.

In a 2.5 I would go with something like Oscar, Banded Leporinus, Redtail Cat, Silver Arowana, or maybe a White Sturgeon.

on a seriouse note I would think about the betta they are a nice fish with a personality.

Maybe 1 Sparkling Guorami ? I dont have much experiance with them, but they are relativley small, if it were me though the min. setup I would do would be a 5 gallon. I would try going the route of a heavily planted nano, with some cherry shrimp. Or rescue a Betta from the little cup at the LFS.

welcome to the world of small tanks... what can live here??? almost nothing.

I feel it is unhealthy to keep anything in a tank that small (next to a betta of coruse) Fish need room to swim. :shark:
