I have been lurking around the web for years looking for info as needed when I ran into a question or problem with my fish. I have two goldfish(6 years old) and two Koi(3 years old) sharing a room temperature ~65 gallon tank. Finally decided to actually sign up somewhere as i've discovered over the years how little I actually know about the little buggers.

My most recent issue is with my goldfish who appears to have developped some rather "pimple looking" spots on his side. Other fish appear to be unaffected but it's tough to tell at this point. I noticed over the last few weeks he has been itching himself routinely on the bottom of the tank. Not something abnormal for the fish but he was repeating it more than usual. The spots concern me as one is fairly large in size, he also has some small white spots on his gill covers that are not dissimilar from "tubercles". They are not easily visible in the attached picture.

The fish have all been through alot - I hope I can help them through this latest spot!

Honestly looks to me like a bacterial or fungal scale rot. Maybe septicemia. Im no fish doctor but I would start there treating for that. Would need another to confirm first.

i think if you post the pics onto the fish desease forum they would help you more.

one website i've found says that the goldfosh probabally has Ich. another site says it might be a worm infection.

Put some stress coat with aloe to help him slime up until someone figures it out. Medicating for what you think it is couldn't hurt. Just change it up if its something different. I would honestly just medicate my whole community if it was small enough.
