Hey all - as luck would have, and just outside of a year, one ballast died on my unit.

I took the unit apart , and ran a voltage tester on the ballast , the one furthest from the power switch, and no voltage found.

I also checked the fuse and it looks okay.

I contacted FINNEX, but thus far, no response.

I'll appreciate you help on this - thx! :)

All - any help will do here - my plants are dying :(

Any chance at identifying the failed component on the transformer? LEDs don't use ballasts that I'm aware of.

I bought a Finnex LED light a few months ago. I accidentally dropped the transformer about 2 feet on to the floor and it gave up and never worked again. I also contacted Finnex, and they said I could send it back to them and they would take a look at it, but all parts, shipping and labor costs were mine. The thing was so flimsy that I decided against that plan, and just used a different light.

When you spoke with Finnex, can you buy a new transformer from them? Maybe buying a generic one with the proper input/output online is an option.

I was told by some other Amazon customer that I could just buy a new transformer for the Finnex light and still use it, but I have no idea how to splice in a new transformer, so I just used another light that I had in the house. It was just for my little 5g betta tank, so it wasn't a lot of money.
