I have 6 Filament Barb /Puntius filamentosus that the lfs suggested would be good with my Geo's.

the problem is all the infomation I find on them says they should be kept at 75 degrees max

My other fish like higher temps than that, I'm keeping the tank about 79 degrees now.

whats going to happen?
should I re-house these barbs?

here's my stock list:
6 Congo Tetras
6 Filament Barbs
4 Geo steindachneri.
3 Incan Stone fish “Tahuantinsuyoa Macantzatza”
4 Julii corys
6 Albino Aeneus corys
2 bristle nose plecos
1 L14 goldie pleco

I'd change them with arulius barbs and keep the filaments in another tank. Males are very pretty to be given away.:silly:

go for it. but be warned - mine ate plants..
LOL! My barbs eat plants nonstop so my dream to make my river setup planted with crypts is crushed. I need to find some Java ferns and anubias again.:irked:

yeah, I ended up with 4 males - very pretty with the long filaments on the dorsal.

they are an overlooked fish in the hobby

babies look like blah.

but when they mature, they look fantastic.

problem is, LFS's only have dull babies in stock..
The same is true with arulius but you have to admit most people are impatient and never wait until the real beauty comes out in them as they mature. I just had one baby I bought at 1.5 inch size matured and turned out to be a male much to my shock. I was expecting it to be a female considering I have only 3 males and 4 females and last time my lfs stocked several adults, of the 30, only 5 were males.
