Hey all,

I think I remember that the correct amount to feed is what is consumed within 2-3 mins. For my ravounous young tigerbarbs, it sure seems like thats not enough.

Can someone give me an idea on what and how much I should feed these fish? Right now I'm feeding once per day due to fishy cycle. (Flakes) I heard something about peas, but a pea seems to big for them at 1/2"-1". Are these peas or some weird sea pea that I havn't heard about. :read:

Flakes are fine. Adding in some frozen food (thawed of course) as a treat is a ncie idea as well. Once per day is fine. Fish have the instinct to eat as much as possible when they see it as there may not be another meal for a few days. I generally skip a feeding once a week. My fish are close to 4 years old now.

par boil the peas and take the skins off..my barbs love them ..I raised mine from babies they are about 1 1/2 " long now I feed them a couple peas twice a week with a varied diet.
brine shrimp tends to enhance the color on mine(albino's the orange on them gets real bright)..I also feed flake foods too.

I feed my barbs including tiger barbs peas quite often. I take the frozen peas, slightly defrost them with my hands, skin them (I do this by simply squeezing one end of the pea) and drop them in. The barbs will tear the peas into smaller pieces and consume them. My fish go bonkers whenever they get peas (similar to the feeding frenzy you see with live food or bloodworms).
