Ok here’s the situation, in my quarantine tank when feeding the algae wafers the packet says leave for 2 hours then remove. Well my 4 oto cats are always still feeding on it, I’ve left it in for as long as 8 hours and they are still eating it.
What is the max amount of time any of you have left these wafers in your tank?
Should I maybe cut it in half then break it into pieces, then just leave the leftovers if any?
Also to remove the wafers I always have to do it with siphon.

Every once in a while, I throw a half of an algae wafer into my guppy tanks in the afternoon/evening and by the next morning its usually gone. If it's not and they're leaving it alone, I vac it out (along with the gravel around it). It never seems to bother my water params and my fish love them!
Anyone else?

I just toss them in and leave it. I am normally throwing 2-3 in but my algae eater and gouramis all attack them and they do not last that long.

i put 2 in each night and they're gone in the morning
