One of my "feeder minnow" seems to be pregnant. The stomach is VERY VERY large. If it's overfeed, I think it's dead by now. Plus, the other 10 or so doesnt have a stomach like that so I'm positive to think that it's pregnant. Anyways. When LFS labels a feeder fish "feeder minnow" are they usually the same specie? Coz I tried searching the web for more information but I don't know what the species exact name is. The LFS only labeled them as "feeder minnow". These ones look like tetras/neon but not as bright and they cost like $2.99/10 fish Canadian, lol. So these aint expensive fish. Help plz :)

I may be way off base, it sounds like a feeder guppy. Often a LFS will sell plain common (as opposed to fancy) guppies as feeder fish. That would explain the bloatedness-- guppies are livebearers and it's extremely common for a female to be pregnant at any given time.

It could also be white cloud minnows. I've seen them sold as feeders as well. The only other 'normal' minnow I can think of that is sold as a feeder is the rosie red. But I highly doubt that you could mistake that. White Cloud females often have a large belly. They are also very hard to breed in an aquarium contrary to all the web sites that say it is easy.

Negative. I have fancy guppies and I've seen feeder guppies(black ones) and they're not guppies. I also own 5 white clouds and they're not the same as these ones(although the "feeder minnow" i have might be white cloud but much brighter?). Anyways. Not rosie red as well.

I've seen both extremes of White Cloud feeders. There are some that are very bright, and some that are just very dull. The only other 'minnow' I can think of thats not listed is a zebra danio. But I'm sure they don't look anything like what you probably have.

It is possible that it might be a "shiner," which is a common baitfish, though these fish are shaped more like a danio than a tetra.

I own zebra danio, these "feeder minnow" isn't that. I guess they are White Clouds then. Thanks all.
