I have a male Blue Neon guppy which seems to be on the point of dying! I need help, please!

Symptoms: Keeps sinkiing to bottom of tank (although earlier it was floating on the top). Swims when I move it, but then sinks again. Sometimes it swims normally for ages, then starts looking ill again. This has been going on for about 2 hours, since I noticed it floating at the top of its usual 55g tank.

What I've done: I've moved it to my 5g quarantine tank (It had fry in it, but I moved them out). Added a small amount of salt and 'Jungle' Fungus Eliminator. There's no sign of fungus, but it says it clears swim bladder disease, so I thought it might be worth a try! (Besides, the only medication I usually have is that and Ick Guard.) Water temp is around 78 - 80.

Any suggestions on what I can do? I really like this fish!

Doesn't have a enourmous belly perhaps? Could be bloat.

A photo of the fish would help.

If the stomach is all swolen with scales popping out then its dropsy.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, the fish died a couple of hours after I posted my message. Oh, well. These things happen!
