I was curious if most marine crabs are also suitable for brackish water conditions? I love different crabs and was curious if an emerald crab would survive in my brackish tank. Thanks!

I believe that most true marine inverts will only tolerate SG down to about 1.020 or so. You might be able to keep them alive in a high-end brackish set up, but I would tend to think they would suffer a shortened life span.

from what I know of them they are more sensitive to this kind of change than many fish I think it has to do with their physiology

Only crabs that are adapted to changing salinities and/or estuarine conditions are suitable for "typical" (is there such a thing?) brackish tanks. The exception would be, as sploke pointed out, tanks with higher salinities. That may or may not be uncomfortable for other inhabitants, however. Many of the most common crabs that tolerate both marine and near limnic conditions are also not safe to keep with most fish (i.e. the blue crab). They are fascinating in their own right, as far as specimens go, but not terribly suitable for most tanks.
