Do Elephant Noses get as big as Black Ghost Knifes? Are they just as aggresive? What is different about them vs. the Black Ghost Knife besides the nose?
I googled this to see if I could find any results before I posted yet another thread, but didnt find any good information so was hoping you could help..

they don't get as big as BGK's but like the BGK's, they have very poor eye sight and rely on electrode sensors on their nose to find food. which is why it's not preferable to keep two of the same species together as they will be confused/agitated by the electrical fields. they are good community fish though. like the BGK, they are nocturnal fish and prefer to hide most of the times

be prepared to give them extra special care. they are picky of food (they prefer live) and living conditions (hiding places). they can reach a size of up to 11 inches and shouldn't be housed it anything smaller than 30G. 50G and up is extremely preferable.

Gnathonemus petersii The Elephant Nose is a shy species and will require a well planted aquarium, with subdued lighting and a soft substrate. You must include hiding places in the form of clay pipes, rockwork or driftwood. They should be kept singly as they are somewhat aggressive to their own species. Nocturnal in nature they will become more active at dusk and start looking for food, it is important to provide this to them after the lights come out. Given time they will become active with the other fish with the lights on. Feed them with Tubifex worms, Mosquito larva and Bloodworms.

Elephant Noses are not Knife fish at all if I'm not mistaken, but they're very similiar in temperment, size, and needs.

My elephant nose is not aggresive at all, he just likes to poke my other fish with his nose, and he just minds his own business nosing around in the substrate.
