Like many other people I bought an aquarium set up which included an eheim pro 2 filter model number 2029.
I have absolutely no idea how to set this up, and was hoping some kind aquarist will email me the instruction manual which I don't have, or some way of obtaining same.

Are you sure of the model number? I can't find it anywhere and it doesn't sound correct.
 
No problem. The manual is a bit difficult to find online since Eheim has discontinued this model but here is a link as a pdf https://www.f3images.com/IMD/UserManuals/EH2028K.pdf

I highly recommend printing or saving the manual in the event it's no longer available online for free.

Be aware that the manual is in multiple languages so if you need English, it's a few pages down. The 2128 is the thermo filter model so hopefully the heater still works if that was your plan.

Parts, seals and o-rings should still be available though may take some searching to find them. I own the 2028 model so if you have more questions, please ask.

I have found that the best way to get any aid on setting up the filter is to use You Tube
If gives you a simple video on assembly ,repair etc
For a 40 veteran hobbits but the dumbest direction reader in the fish world.
