Well I'm planning a tank I have in mind for this summer(assuming I get my summer job)...and plan on having a group of geo redhead tapajos in a 75 or 90g. I saw another member's tank and they had corys and even otocinclus in there. I believe the geos can grow to 5"+, so wouldn't they eat them?

Also, how do you think they would do with kuhli loaches and smaller schooling fish like cardinal tetras?

Thanks

Glad to see more people getting into geos! These guys average around 5-6" but can get bigger. One of the guys on mfk has two males that are 8"! Though these guys arent known piscivores I'd still be wary with small fish like cardinals or kuhlis. It should be fine but there is still some risk involved. The corys should be fine, and I'd go with a deeper bodied tetra (ie lemon). But you can always try and see what happens! Good luck!

Geos aren't the tough guys they portray themselves to be. I have an 8" Geophagus Jurupari and it gets along fine with my school of pristella tetras. (Pristella tetras are a bit deeper bodied than cardinals though.)

As far as Kuhlis go, I think they'd be ok because they are so quick to hide and when full grown are just a bit bigger than what I believe a Geo would eat. Most of the time Geos just try to shoo others out of their territory with little carnage to go along with it.

Beautiful fish, do it!

Also, I've heard that many speciaes of Geo reach about 10" full size, so be prepared for that. (I haven't researched your particular type of Geo yet, so I may be incorrect in that instance.)
