Does Stress Coat cause mild foaming?

I just recently started using Stress Coat in my tanks. I've noticed some mild foaming at the surface. I've never had this before. Could it be the aloe in the stress coat maybe???
Anyone else notice this?
Thanks!

I never noticed foaming but i have noticed a slight film when i used too much. Use no more than the minimum ammount.

If you are seeing some kind of film or foaming on the surface of the water then you are using too much of it. Do an immediate water change to reduce this. If there is too much foam on the surface of the water it will reduce the amount of oxygen available to your fish in the water. Of course you want them to have as much oxygen as possible. I had this happen once when I used too much stress coat and there were a lot of foamy bubbles at the surface. It took several days of water changes to resolve this.

I use it for conditioner and dose for the whole tank like I always have. It's just a few bubbles near the out flow of the filter and the fish seem fine...
I guess I should be dosing for just the amount of water I take out instead of the whole tank?

Exactly! Just for the water that you have replaced. The only conditioner that I dose the whole tank for is Prime.

Ok, thanks. That's what I started out doing until I read on this forum that alot of people dose for the whole tank when doing a pcw. I didn't think you could od on conditioner...

Why are you even using it?

Ohhh so thats where its coming from... guess im using too much prime too

rbishop,
To dechlor my water and my cory has a damaged fin. I thought the aloe in would be good for him. I also recently added fish and thought the stress coat would be beneficial while they settled in.
The cory's fin is pretty much healed and the new ones have settled in so I'm going to go back to my regular conditioner. When that's gone, I'm going to pick up some Prime since it seems to be highly recommended.
