I am interested in getting some freshwater shrimp. Not sure what my LFS has, I'm going to look tomorrow. I have clown loaches and kuhli loaches...do they eat shrimp? I know they eat snails. Don't want to get expensive loach treats :D

I have never had loaches and shrimp but I did find the information below doing a search of the forum. I hope it helps!

I have 3 Botia robusta (aka. Golden Zebra loaches) in my 70 gallon plant tank. They are pretty neat looking, and seem to be good snail eliminators (I have never seen a live snail in my tank yet, but I did see a few empty shells laying around when I was replanting the tank). Many Botia loaches will do well in eating snails. Beware however, that if these loaches can, they may eat any shrimp you have in your tank. I used to have a mid-size population of shrimp in my tank (about 40 of them). They all but dissappeared shortly after adding the loaches in my tank. No big deal though, about 30 of them were ghost shrimp, 10 of them amano shrimp. They weren't anything more than part of the clean up crew.
