Do Amano Shrimp prefer to be in group?

I have two in my 20 gallon, but wonder if they prefer to be in larger numbers? I had 3, but one didn't make it so I was wondering if I should add another.

Other inhabitants are:
(1) Nerite Snail
(1) Male Betta
(5) Panda Cories

I've never noticed them to care. I'd verify that it wasn't harassed by the betta before replacing it, either way. Bettas can be very intolerant and go after shrimp (or other tankmates).

If they don’t care about being in groups, I will leave as-is.

Luckily, Bob the Betta is super chill and he pays no attention to his tank mates. I’ve even watched him eat off the same carnivore pellet with the panda cories without issue.
