Discolored Weather Loach?

Hi Everyone,
I just joined today for this reason (and will continue to visit the forums) but anyway,
I just got 2 weather loaches last week, and it's the first time I've had a loach (usually just fantails). I woke up this morning and one of them has a very beigy-dark yellow colored belly. They're both very dark green in color (I'm assuming it's green, very dark) and it wasn't until today that the color went light on it's belly. I thought he was acting funny last night, but didn't know the difference as I understand they go bonkers from time to time anyway, hence the name.
This one was laying on his side, and once partly upside down, but would still swim like a mad fish (they've been doing that since I got them).
I'm feeding them Tropical Fish flakes and every now and then some blood worms. I also think I've been overfeeding them as their tank is full of old food in those 6 days (I thought they were heavy feeders compared to fantails).
His/her entire belly is this light color. Still dark on top.

Any advice or input?
Thanks for any help.

As with many fish, weather loach colors can vary and intensify per their moods....could be the weather, could be how he/she is responding to the other loach, etc....and they are "contorted" sleepers, hehe...as long as behavior and feeding patterns do not radically change, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep an eye on him - water changes also have a rejuvenating affect.

I had absolutely no idea that their colors could change so drastically.
They aren't usually very interested in their food (when i give it to them) either.
Thanks a lot for your input!

It's a small tank (not goldfish bowl small, but small -advertised as suitable for 2 goldfish), the temperature is around 17-18 °C, and I've no idea the pH. I am looking at getting at least a 20 gal next month.
I just got home from work (where I was when I posted) and the loach is dead anyway. I also got it from Walmart, which isn't the best of places.

That tank is way to small! Do you know how big goldfish and weather loaches get? You would need a 75 gallon minimum for just the fish you have now. There is no way they are going to survive in a tank this small. Your best bet is to return all of them before they die.

I will take your advice, as I do not want to kill the other one too.
Fantails are what I usually deal with.

If you have the resources get them a 125 gallon aquarium and keep them. They are great fish! They are just big and messy.

Thanks for your help, it's appreciated. I do like them so I'll shoot for a minimum size of 125.
