I've just begun stocking my new 75 gallon cichlid tank and want one more species. I now have 7 Yellow Labs and 6 Acei's. I'd like something blue and black to go with the purple and yellow and have access to some nice Cynotilapia afra's (Jalo Reef). I'm wondering if anyone has personal experience with these guys particularly their disposition. I'd like to have a relatively peaceful tank at least as far as mbuna's go and don't want anything too aggressive. I'm open to other's suggestions for similar looking fish as well that would go well with what I have now. Thanks. Jim

Cynotilapia afra would be a good addition. They are not extremely aggressive.

Other options would be:

Pseudotropeus saulosi (males are blue/black - females are yellowish-orange)

Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos (both male and females are blue/black)

There are many more. Take a look at this page:

See if anything catches your eye. If you have questions regarding any other mbuna, just ask. There are many here who have a great deal of knowledge of mbuna. With a 75g, you have many options.
