Hello,

Got a question...
I have 2 gold dojo loaches, 4 yoyo loaches, 6 tiger barbs, and 6 giant danios
in a 55 gallon tank, was wondering if I could add a crawfish or 2 to the mix without it eating anybody, also wanted to add about 3 or 4 gold asian clams.
if at all possible, in the future also planned on adding an asian striped catfish or 2. also if compatable with this current setup, what species of crawfish would work best? would like to keep the asian theme running if at all possible.

thanx

Any fish sitting/sleeping on the bottom for too long will be a tasty crawfish snack, especially when the cute little mudbug gets big.
NOT a good mix with your Loaches!
The crayfish will require a source of calcium for proper growth and molting.

Clams can be cool but are sensitive and can be very hard to feed properly.
If one happens to die un-noticed it will pollute your tank quickly and with a incredible foulness.

yes i had to remove my crawfish from the set up after he shredded up his tank mates trying to grab them in the dark, though i have heard rumors of farm raised crawfish that wont harm tank mates. No clue if its true at all though.
