I'm looking at buying a Coralife Pro fixture 72", that has 3x 150W metal halides... i'm wondering if there is anything i can do to convert the fixture for 250W halides????

so if i just purchased a replacement 250w ballast and changed it with the 150w one it should work?
Agree with Grins on this one.. With the Balasts and Bulbs being about the most expensive parts of any light fixture I'd just buy a 250 to begin with since you don't have an existing light setup.
Yep, me three. Just save up the extra and get what you ultimately want, it will save you some money in the end.

i was going to get the coralife pro w/ 3x 150w halides for 600$ the 250W version is reg priced at 1500$
The Coralife Pro light fixture is nice, but if I was going to invest in updating to 250w I would add a canopy and then put in the retrofit like Grins mentions. Just don't forget the cooling fans in the canopy! I think it would be a pain to put the new ballast in the Pro light fixture - are they the same size?
