Hi all, hope some one has advice on what the problem may be... :sad
I have a flame angel in my 150g FOWLR tank. The fish is fairly new. I have had the fish for about 5 weeks now. Two days ago his right eye clouded up, and this morning I noticed that his right eye is now starting to cloud up. The fish is eating normally and behaves normally as well.

First what is this type of disease? Is it a parasite?
A friend has suggested quarantine and medicate with melafix.

Water conditions are very good. I use only RO/DI water, and monitor all parameters weekly. The only one that has crept up is the SG which is at 1.025.. amonia, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate all at 0. PH=8.2

Suggestions Please on what to do, and what medicine is recommended???
thanks in advance

Bill

Sometimes this will clear up by itself.
They key here is whether or not your other fish show the same symptoms.
If not, then quarantine for Flame would be a good idea, make sure to prep the Q tank with good water. Try it without any meds first and see if it improves. Fenner writes: "Cloudy eyes are indicative of poor water quality... almost never directly from an infectious or parasitic agent in different types of fishes in the same set-up..."
My thinking is when the Flame is moved this will either improve by itself or advance to popeye. Keep an eye on all others, if it shows in the other fish, you have another problem.
