Yesterday I fed my Oscar some raw chicken liver cut into small pieces. WOW!! did he go crazy on them. Thinking next time I buy a raw chicken for dinner I will give him the liver again. He sure liked them.
Feed that is fed to chickens is no where near 100% protein. I live in a community where chicken farming is the number source of income, my father has owned chicken houses my entire life. The feed that is fed to chickens has so many additives not limited to but definitely including growth hormones and steroids as well as many times farmers mix the feed with hog manure. My father gets his peeps when they are several hours old and in six weeks they are full grown chickens. Now we all know NOTHING grows that fast naturally, this is attributed to so many steroids and hormones that are added to the feed. I won't feed myself chicken much less my animals.I suggested that one time b/c the feed fed to commercial chickens is 100% protein. Several people went nut saying never feed a fish chicken. I believe that was on MFK. So what is right? Ok to feed chicken livers or no?

LOL...
I think the argument goes....land based proteins are not good for aquatic based life.
