Glad to hear she's made it though, mel.... my prayers are still with you and her though as she get's through the cognitive impairment issues.

I thought I’d post an update to this thread; I haven’t been able to be on AC except for the briefest of moments in quite a while. I’ve been busy busy, and away from home quite a bit, but things are slowing down, now.
Thanks, again, to all those who expressed words of support, comfort, and offered prayers. Your kindness was a great help.
I mentioned in my last post that before mom could have her surgery for breast cancer she had to be checked out and cleared by a cardiologist; at that time they discovered a huge blockage that could not be corrected by a stent so they had to do a triple bypass surgery before she could have the cancer surgery.
She had a rough time with the bypass surgery and was in the hospital for ten days.
A few weeks after she got out of the hospital she had the double mastectomy. She is recovering well from both surgeries, though she is having a significant degree of cognitive impairment that we are worried about.
They have done a PET scan and bone scan and determined that the cancer had not spread, so we believe she is cancer free, which is certainly a blessing.
Holy cow. All I can say is WHAT a strong woman she is, and you are. Mel, you are amazing, All my best thoughts and wishesto her AND to you and yours as this year unfolds. Hopefully 2012 will be a little less challenging.

Thanks, again, for the kind words, positive thoughts, prayers, and well wishes, and I, too, am hoping 2012 will be a little smoother sailing and I believe it will, in spite of what those dang Mayans had to say about it.:grinno:
