Can I combine my two 20 gallon tanks together.

Crazy idea. I want to combine my two twenties into a 40 gallon fish tank. If it's possible how?

dougall's suggestion is probably the best and least permanent option- but I have also seen people cut large holes in their tanks and use bulkheads to connect them with an acrylic pipe.

only problem I see with the bridge is water changes could be difficult if you ever drain enough water that the water line gets below it.

Clear three inch plumbers pipe is cheaper, and you need to keep your water level lower enough so that if it loses suction you won't overflow.

Also a bunch of fish are too dumb to use it deliberately and will get their schools split up and get confused. I learned that by experience.

Oh, and if you use plant lights is is constantly covered in algae.

(I could sell you a second hand one cheap though)
