I sent some of my numerous pond snails to my friend that has clown loaches, since they've cleaned out her population already. When they arrive, should she keep them out of the tank and make sure only to feed the ones that are still alive? Or is it ok if they're dead since they won't have been dead too long? I know they eat dead ones in the tank but I wasn't sure if they were starting to decompose or whatever if that would be harmful.

Got some snails in the mail... One was obviously alive- the other two I wasn't sure about... did the sniff test- snails didn't smell bad.

I was sure one was dead when I decided I'd put it in the tank and almost immediately some of the smallest of my MTS started climing INSIDE the snail- presumedly to eat the remains...

So, if the snail doesn't smell bad- and the fish won't eat it... the other snails will at least.
