Buying my Betta online

I plan on buying my Betta Imbellis online. The only problem is that I will most likely have to buy 2 at a time. Can a male and female live in the same tank or will I have to separate them?

they really should be seperated, and even if they got along and bred, they would end up having to be seperated when the babies were born anyways....

I checked for compatibility, and it should be fine. I will ask the breeder too. I am still shopping around. I want to get my plants in the tank first. It is a big waiting game with the pet store. They won't tell me for sure if they can or will get the plants for me. I may end up getting everything online. I'd hate to have to pay the shipping, though.

If I do have to set up another tank for the 2nd betta, it would have to be my 5 gal. tank (that is the only tank I have left). What could I put in there with it? And what is this I hear about training bettas to do tricks and bettas playing with little fish toys?

Betta imbellis? I don't forsee a problem unless mating occurs.
Betta splendens? Problems

ive taught my Betta splendens to come for eats. i show him the botttle and he goes to the top. Hasnt touched a fish yet. I feared the lyretails would be too much but not a problem.

Thanks, Chile. You seem familiar with the fish I am talking about. Any other info you can give me would be much appreciated. Any ideas where I can get them?
Also, it seems like I will be buying all of my fish online for this tank. Maybe even the plants too. :thud:

Just an aside: I love your signature!

Also, anybody else with information on where I can get the plants and the Betta Imbellis, please feel free to post or pm me! My shopping list is on my public profile and also in my rant entitled "The LFSs in my town are USELESS!"
Take a peak. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Google and other search engines are your friends, use'em and you won't have to wait for replies.

Chile,
You're awesome! I don't understand how I can spend so much time online and, yet, google is the last thing that comes to my mind. I often feel like an idiot.

Thank you! :D

Beeker,
What kind of tank do you have? do you have the one of the all-glass mini bos? I really like these small setups. I like putting a small Power compact bulb in these and have java fern and moss grow in them. Gives the Betta a place to hide.
